Highlights of the Al Purdy Show, a fundraiser held at Koerner Hall in Toronto on Feb. 6, 2013. With a cast of poets and musicians that included Margaret Atwood, Dennis Lee, Gord Downie and Gordon Pinsent, the show was part of a campaign to restore Purdy’s A-Frame cottage in Prince Edward County, Ontario. The A-Frame, where Purdy lived and wrote, was once a mecca for the pioneers of CanLit. It is being turned into a writers’ retreat, where his legacy will inspire a new generation.
